Welcome to StatusMela. These terms are an agreement between you and StatusMela ("StatusMela", "we", "us"). They explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you when you use the StatusMela app and website. Please read them along with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines.
By creating an account or using StatusMela, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use StatusMela.
Who can use StatusMela#
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must be allowed to use the service under Indian law and not have been banned from StatusMela before.
- One person, one account. Pages run on behalf of a brand or creator must be set up with us.
Your account#
You sign in with your Google account. Keep your phone and Google account secure — you are responsible for what happens on your StatusMela account. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else is using it.
Pick a username and profile photo that don't pretend to be someone else and don't break our Community Guidelines. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate people or brands, or that are left unused for a long time.
Your content#
You own what you post — your photos, videos, shayari, comments and everything else ("your content").
When you post on StatusMela, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, copy, resize, translate, display and share your content, only so we can run, show and improve StatusMela. This includes:
- showing your posts in feeds, search and on our website;
- making smaller copies and adding a small StatusMela watermark when a post is shared or saved;
- letting other people share your public posts, for example to WhatsApp.
The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people have already shared, and copies we must keep by law.
You promise that you have the right to post your content, and that it doesn't break any law or anyone else's rights (such as copyright, privacy or reputation).
What you must not do#
- Post anything our Community Guidelines don't allow, or anything prohibited under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT Rules, 2021.
- Harass, threaten, cheat or impersonate anyone.
- Post other people's content as your own, or private information about anyone without their consent.
- Spam, buy or sell followers or likes, or use bots and scripts.
- Try to break, overload, copy or reverse-engineer StatusMela, or get into accounts or systems you're not allowed to.
How we keep StatusMela safe#
We use a mix of people and automatic checks to review content. We may remove content, limit who sees it, or suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law — sometimes without notice when people's safety is at risk.
If we remove your content or suspend your account and you think we got it wrong, write to us at [email protected].
Copyright and other complaints#
If you believe something on StatusMela infringes your copyright or trademark, or is unlawful, write to us at [email protected] with a link to the content and details of your complaint.
Our service#
StatusMela, its name, logo, design and software belong to StatusMela. You may not use them without our written permission, except to share links to StatusMela.
StatusMela is free. We may show ads, including ads chosen using information about how you use StatusMela (see the Privacy Policy). Sponsored content will be clearly marked.
We work hard to keep StatusMela running, but we provide it "as is". We can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that content posted by others is accurate. We may change, pause or stop features at any time.
Limitation of liability#
To the extent the law allows, StatusMela is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for content other people post. If we are found liable to you, our total liability is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Indian consumer law that cannot be limited.
You agree to cover any losses we suffer because you broke these terms or the law.
Ending your account#
You can delete your account at any time — see Delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering StatusMela.
Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms. If the changes are important, we'll tell you in the app before they apply and may ask you to accept them again. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
Law and disputes#
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at the place of our registered office have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have under consumer protection law.
