StatusMelaStatusMela is a place to share good mornings, shayari, laughs and everyday moments in your own language. These guidelines keep it friendly for everyone. They apply to everything on StatusMela — posts, comments, profiles, usernames and messages in photos and videos. Breaking them can get your content removed or your account suspended.
Be kind and respectful#
Disagree with ideas, not people. Don't bully, shame, threaten or keep targeting anyone, and don't share someone's private details (phone number, address, photos) without their permission.
No nudity or sexual content#
- No nudity, sexual acts or sexually suggestive content, including in profile photos and frames.
- Zero tolerance for anything that sexualises children. We remove it, ban the account and report it to the authorities.
- Don't share intimate photos or videos of anyone. If someone has posted such images of you, tell us — we act within 24 hours.
No hate#
Don't attack or demean people for their religion, caste, community, gender, sexual orientation, disability, region, language or skin colour. No slurs, no calls to exclude or harm groups, and no symbols of hate groups.
No violence or dangerous acts#
- No threats, glorification of violence or terrorism, or graphic gore.
- No content that encourages dangerous stunts, self-harm or suicide. If you're struggling, please call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7) — you're not alone.
- No selling or promoting weapons, drugs, alcohol to minors, gambling or other illegal goods and services.
No misinformation#
Don't post false information that can cause real harm — fake health cures, rumours that can start violence between communities, false claims about elections, or edited and AI-made videos that pretend real people said or did things they didn't. Label AI-generated content when you post it. Check before you forward.
Respect copyright#
Only post what you made, or what you have permission to share. Give credit to the original creator. Don't upload whole films, TV shows, cricket matches or music videos you don't own. Rights holders can report infringement to us at [email protected].
No spam or fake activity#
No repetitive posts, misleading links, scams or "get rich quick" schemes. Don't buy or sell followers, likes or accounts, and don't use bots. Don't pretend to be another person, brand or official — parody and fan accounts must say so clearly.
Follow the law#
Don't post anything illegal in India, including content banned under the IT Rules, 2021: content that threatens India's unity, integrity, security or public order, or that is obscene, defamatory or invasive of privacy.
How we keep StatusMela safe#
Reporting. See something wrong? Tap ⋯ on any post, comment or profile and choose Report. Reports are private — the person won't know who reported them. Our team reviews reports, starting with the most serious ones.
Automatic checks. Every photo, GIF and video is scanned for nudity when it's uploaded. Posts that are very likely unsafe are taken down at once; others are sent to our team to check. Bad words in comments, captions and bios are hidden automatically.
What happens next. Depending on how serious the problem is, we may remove the content, limit who sees it, issue a warning, or suspend or permanently ban the account. Serious cases such as child safety or threats to life are reported to the police.
